| Why Private Folders |
| The problem of hiding private information
has been known since ancient times. Numerous war
conflicts, succession to the throne issues made
people to invent secret writing. But keeping secrets
was required in daily life too. E.g. Spanish Prime
Minister Manuel de Godoy (1767 -1851) kept painting
of Francisco Goya The Naked Maja behind The Clothed
Maja which could be revealed by a special mechanism:
Hover your mouse over the painting to "activate"
mechanism and reveal The Naked Maja.

Most of computer users have secret files on their computers.
This may include private photos, videos, documents,
etc. which you never want to share with others. How
can you protect your files from other users, but keep
them accessible to yourself? You can use NTFS permissions
to control user access to your files, but this approach
is good only if you are the only administrator of your
computer and other users have limited privileges. Moreover,
you cannot hide your files and folders with NTFS permissions.
You can only lock them or protect your files from being
modified or erased.
Our Private Folders utility lets you not only lock
your data securily from all other users, but make your
files and folders invisible!
